Governor’s Energy Office
The Governor’s Energy Office (GEO) was created in 1977 with the purpose of promoting energy conservation in Colorado under the original name “Office of Energy Management and Conservation”. It was renamed as the GEO by Governor Bill Ritter on April 16 2007. In January 2011, Governor Hickenlooper took over the responsibility of the GEO and its charter. His goal is to continue to shape it into an organization that will effectively, efficiently and elegantly advance energy efficiency and renewable clean energy resources, while also focusing on increasing business and job creation in Colorado.
The Governor’s Energy Office has been a frequent supporter of the Alliance’s projects; including a number of our Sustainability Roundtables.
