Alliance Center

The Alliance Center is the built example of our mission. A tool for social advocacy, the Alliance Center also demonstrates how sound building design and technologies create healthy workplaces and reduce environmental impacts.

The center is conceived to:

  • Create a gathering place for leaders in sustainability from across the nation.
  • Provide a showcase of green construction in a rehabilitated historic building constructed to LEED (U.S. Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) standards.
  • Help organizations achieve greater efficiencies by providing stable, healthy, financially favorable, and secure office space.
  • Improve communications and opportunities for collaborative initiatives.

About the Alliance Center

On June 30, 2004, Alliance for Sustainable Colorado purchased a nearly 100 year-old warehouse building and empty lot in Denver's historic Lower Downtown. The organization then renovated the building and turned it into a model of high performance technologies and a collaborative hub named the "Alliance Center." Located at 1536 Wynkoop Street, the Alliance Center provides offices, meeting space, and shared services to our community.

The Alliance Center became one of two buildings in the world to earn two certifications from the U.S. Green Building Council's (USGBC) Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program. In 2006, the Alliance Center earned Existing Building Gold and Commercial Interiors Silver. The building also earned EPA's Energy Star Leader status.
